I took a while, but I'm back, so here we go...

Crystal Castles



So Crystal Castles, electronic duo from Canada sort of half noise back, help weird electro music. They're rather spiffing. Released their debut LP 'Crystal Castles' in 2008 (I think) which had some very good songs on it, particularly 'Alice Practice' and 'Courtship Dating' but disappointed me a little.

However, while I was away, two songs off their new album were played on Zane Lowe. 'Doe Deer' is a short blast of noise and distorted vocals which sounds a lot like their early demos (which I had a copy of...then lost :/) while 'Celestica' is more chilled out, ambient type track. Both very nice and IMO some of the best stuff they're done.

Now that WAS going to be it, however today it was announced that because the album has been leaked online it's going to be rush released. That is to say the previous release date of mid-June has been brought forwards. From this Friday it will be available online, while the physical copy will be out in May. I’m going o wait for the CD, but it will be hard...
