Tenderoni....hmmmm

Just a quick update for today, concerning Kele from Bloc Party's debut solo album :)

The album, entitled 'The Boxer' is out on the 21st of June (I think...), and looks set to branch a fair country mile away from most of the Bloc Party canon of work, all dance beats and electro. You thought that 'Intimacy' was out there...

The first single, 'Tenderoni' (sounds very 'hi-tech' and flashy dunnit?), isn't out till a week or so before the album, but the video for it debuted at the start of last week, giving anyone interested a glimpse at what the album might be like.

It's pretty massive, atmospheric verse driven by an electronic beat that builds and builds before a flourish of synth into a drop that isn't exactly 'dirty' (this aint dubstep people...) but is still pretty dam big. The chorus is equally stonking, more synth and overlayed vocals....lyricly its classic Bloc Party 'Every time that we kiss...it feels liek you're holding back...' but that’s where the similarity ends...

So, as you can tell I'm pretty stoked for this...come Reading weekend I'm defiantly going to be there to watch him live (if not before then, small tour in the summer!) and before then, the album will be bought.
