A Monolith Post

 Well we are finally back after a particularly long and eventful summer and now with all 3 contributors back at uni and back with internet plus Kane getting a promoters job (proud of you) we are back so here is the massive catch up post over the last 2 weeks of shows that I've attended (I'm lazy so I'm just doing a number and a little comment)


DYING FETUS (4/5 hard as fucking nails, so many old classics in the mix with newer songs)
JOB FOR A COWBOY (4/5 every time I've seen them they have ruled, this was no exceptation)
REVOCATION (2/5 if lamb of god had no heavy bits, good fun but not my thing)
CEREBRAL BORE (3/5 played lots of the better songs on the album, sound deadly live)

AYS (5/5 10 years of material and they were incredible, new album art is beautiful)
PARISO (4/5 crystal palace crush patrol at their finest, black milk sounds fierce, stage dives aplenty)
NO OMEGA (3/5 swedish spook patrol, amazing on record, amazing live)
HEAVY HANDS (3/5 I don't get why everyone dislikes them, good solid UKHC)

NO TOLERANCE (4/5 disappointing turnout but that's irrelvant, the sound was incredible and their songs sound sick)
TREMORS (4/5 my favorite band at the moment, opening on creekside was made better by the guitar strap breaking)
A LONG TIME DEAD (3/5 sound like a mix of 50. caliber and walls of jericho, heavy on cd, heavier in real life)
TYBURN (3/5 first time seeing them, did not disappoint, fast abrasive punk, beautiful)

NEW LOWS (4/5 chaotic would undersell them, had an out of body experience during their set)
FULL OF HELL (4/5 NYC noisemosh (is that a thing?) so much feedback, so glad I wore earphones)
LET IT DIE (1/5 not my thing at all, vocals were a bit too much and songs felt too long, could see why people like them tho)
ICED OUT (2/5 wrestling mask and northern anger aside, good live sound but I prefer them on record)
OUTRAGE (4/5 they sound so good, ones to watch in the future)

JOYCE MANOR (5/5 literally wheeled out all the hits and played 21st dead rats, as good as cd as they are live)
APOLOGIES I HAVE NONE (1/5 snore)
BANGERS (1/5 basement meets descendants, snore)
GNARWOLVES (2/5 could see why people like them, not my thing sound too much like LTA meets ADTR)

KIDS INSANE (4/5 israeli hardcore punk, hard fast and loud, if you missed them you missed out)
KARTEL (4/5 LBU heavyweights, sound so incredibly heavy, with a bit more crowd participation and it would have been perfect)
GOLIATH (3/5 LBU new blood apparently, I thought they were pretty good, classic beatdown hardcore london style)

NO TOLERANCE (5/5 the straight edge was represented, furious, fast and fighty literally blew me away)
GIVE (2/5 not my thing, pretty riffy and stuff but not really feeling them, maybe seeing them again could change that)
OUTRAGE (4/5 they sound so good, ones to watch in the future)
VIOLENT REACTION (3/5 fast paced straight edge from the liverpooooooooll, record is crazy)
VOIDHAMMER (2/5 first show so i'll forgive them but the vocals really don't suit the music, play faster)
