5 Movie Intros/Endings

Being someone who currently is burying themselves deeper into debt to study something they love (film at university) and inspired by a conversation I had with my friend Tara (catstello.blogspot.com) about sampling behind hip hop songs, I think I should finally combine the two things of movie and music, so here is the top 5 movie/tv clips used by bands either on cd or live.

1) Six FT Ditch - Night Of The Living Dead

Noted UKHC heavyweights and all round scary dudes Six FT Ditch are known for the vocalist Peachy's love of horror films and strange films in general (their second release was named after notorious snuff film Faces Of Death) so it's no surprise that playing live they would come onto one of the quintessential horror movies of all Time Night Of The Living Dead. It seems almost like an audio hallucination considering how loud it is and how early on in the day it's being played, but I can't deny that being there would have sent a shiver up my spine, zombies are chaos and SFD are chaos, put them together and well, see for yourself (1.25 into the video)

Barbara, their coming to get you barbara

2) R.A.M.B.O - The Rambo Theme

The general rule of thumb is if your going to start a joke band, don't ever halfass it, fully commit to it and treat it like the most serious thing you can because that way the joke will become instantly 10 times funnier. Hence why this live video of people coming onto the rambo theme out of a homemade cardboard helicopter and coming down a rope ladder that would give anyone who does health and safety a nightmare is so worth your time and attention

3) Wrong Answer - Westworld

Wrong Answer are always good for a hyper obscure TV or Film quote (most of them I am reliably informed come from animes etc) but my favorite will always be from their newest record "Cross The Black Cat's Path" in the closing song The Antoinette, which has a quote I believe from noted dystopian 1978's theme park nightmare film WestWorld but I could be totally wrong, either way it's creepy as fuck and really sets a tone for what wrong answers music is about, being a miserable person trapped in a miserable world. listen to it here: ULTIMATE PAIN ULTIMATE PLEASURE

4) Graf Orlock - Numerous

Pioneers of their own genre of music called "Cinegrind" and general film buffs Graf Orlock are the number one band for using extensive amounts of film sampling in their music, with their 3 part triology of CD's covering everything from 80's cop movies all the way through to futuristic films like Robocop and Alien, and their dedication to actually playing all the clips live makes for them to be as fun to see live as they are on CD, for example from this recent footage of them at fluff-fest flying off into the distance at the end of their set to the Jurassic Park theme is priceless (the fun starts at 15.00)

5) Throat Plunger - Spun

You can tell I was struggling to find the video of a decent number 5, but instead here is a pretty godamn awful song but from one of my favorite films called Spun. all together now: THE BEST PART IS I'M NOT HOOKED. stop the video at 15 seconds to save yourself a lot of agony.
