First off, I caved in and, in a desperate bid for page views, created a facebook 'fan page' for this thing...sorry if you're one of those I sent a request to, I know, I have no dignity...
Anyway, down to some real business now...
Some Reptiles Developed Wings EP, Egyptian Hip Hop

Above you see the title and cover of the recently released Egyptian Hip Hop EP, 'Some Reptiles Developed Wings'
There was a lot of naming of stuff in that sentence...
But anyway, this is their second release. After the much shorter 'Wild Human Child' EP that only had two songs, it's quite exciting. Basically, four tracks: 'Moon Crooner', 'Rad Pitt', 'Middle Name Period' and 'Native'- All in a similar vein to the first EP but with more synths and sounding more like a band who know what they're doing. 'Middle Name' is a a dancey instrumental based on a rather hypnotic little synth hook while the stand out track, 'Rad Pitt', has a really relaxed vibe, kind of like the soundtrack to a movie montage (although the said montage would certainly have to be a bit of a trip...)
The other songs hold their own too. 'Native' is a grower, just over six minutes long and bringing the whole EP to an end in a sea of synth and white noise. The opening track is fairly catchy too, although I'd say it's probably the least memorable of all the songs on the EP.
So, it's another promising release. Not perfect- it still sounds cringingly 'hip' occassionly, like the band are trying a bit too hard to be cool- but mostly it's a real solid release that makes me want to listen more.
What do you guys think? Hit it up on Spofity and have a listen :)
