Pre Sonnisphere Playlist

So, at the end of next week I'll be at Knebworth, in a field, drunk, surrounded by metal heads. And I couldn't be more excited. To celebrate this here's a few (and it really is only a FEW) or the bands I'm stoked for...

Slayer

Their guitarist may a horrific flesh eating disease in his arm. But that is highly unlikely to stop the thrash gods from tearing the place up as they headline the Sunday night.

Title Fight

Beautiful little American hardcore band playing the festival as part of their UK tour. Not worth missing.

Gallows

Them live at Reading 2010 was one of the best shows I've been too. Sure the second album may be a little flat, but I dare you not to want to scream you're lungs raw when 'Orchestra of Wolves' starts up...

Weezer

Not really that metal. But then again, the champions of awkward teenagers everywhere Mr Rivers Cuomo and the rest of the band will probably still tear it up (and make Biffy Clyro who headline after them look like idiots)

Slipknot

So when Paul Grey died I thought I'd never get to see them live. But then they cracked out the old boiler suits and started playing the early stuff. I've already opened up my old copy of 'Iowa' and am practicing my hate face in preparation...

All of that being said there's still Limp Bizkit, Motorhead, Parkway Drive, Cancer Bats, Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeath along with a metric tonne of others.

My head might explode.

  1. So when did Slayer start headlining on Sunday instead of being apart of the big 4 on Friday...
