Bandcamp: Round-Up 8

All good things come in 8's: octopus' tentacles, the Halloween film series and packs of milky-ways at sainsburys, so once again here is a round up of some the excellent stuff you can download off bandcamp to enjoy and rock out to in your bedroom.

Knife Crimes (grim hardcore from t' norfff http://knifecrimes.bandcamp.com/album/complete-discography )
Hateful, Scary and Uncomfortable are all words that instantly spring to mind when listening to Knife Crimes, such
is the level of darkened fear that lies in both the music and the lyrics that it would be hard to pinpoint exactly what Knife Crimes sound like genre-wise, mixing both classic hardcore elements with what could only be described as a holy-terror style sound, but regardless this album is certainly more than just a classic case of a good band with bad recordings, Knife Crimes are a good band with good recordings honestly it's production is what really shines through and gives it is edge, so you should check them out and buy a cloak and maybe run round a council estate burning a cross or something (4/5)

Benchpress: (thugged out muscle-core from Lewiston, penn http://benchpress.bandcamp.com/album/stay-hated )
If there is one thing we appreciate at Eazynoiz is a good heavy crushing breakdown that makes you want to punch a hole through a wall and Benchpress is loaded with them in copious amounts, but that's not it's only appeal, as it's actually a pretty solid record combining metallic mosh elements into what can only be describe as "gym-core (see also: harms way, throwdown, e-town concrete) which makes you so pumped up you want to pump some weights and squat 2020202020kg's. Straight up moshing from start to finish, with it's only real downfall being a tad samey in song structure but that's only if your a purist of the genre and are looking for something a bit more. Solid EP release (3.5/5)

Bitter Thoughts: (chicago town mosh patrol http://bitterthoughtshc.bandcamp.com/album/s-t )
Having downloaded the bitter thoughts demo back in 2011, I was excited to see what they had up their sleeves for their self-titled and it's finally here giving more 90's style hardcore with one of the most unique and interesting vocals out at the moment. From the moment the album kicks in you know what your getting yourself into: 7 minutes of angry hardcore over 3 songs, which is good because it's like an attack on the senses and all the songs blur into one sort of massive opus and feels a bit short at times, but at the same time it leaves you hungering for more which is never ever a bad thing, check it out chicago isn't just for microwavable pizzas anymore (4/5)

Fuck Friends: (crusty black metal from philly http://fuckfriends.bandcamp.com/album/vomit-on-the-bible-and-kickflip-the-cross )
I hate crustys as people, but as music genre it's always exciting and raw sounding which to me is a massive bonus, so fuck friends serve up exactly what I was expecting and exactly what I wanted: noisy, distorted, fast hardcore/crust with hilarious song names (and a kick-ass cover of teenage kicks). As with most noise releases, it tends to get a bit boring or abit "un-adventurous" at times but that's why the songs are short, you're too busy trying to keep your face from melting to worry about such minor details (3/5)

check out all the bands, give them your support and ignore my opinions and listen for yourself
